Success is Like Building Muscle, The Only Limit is You.

In the workplace, success in any capacity doesn’t just come from your background, status or degree, it comes from within you and how far you are willing to improve yourself. Successful people are not necessarily the smartest people in the room. Research shows us that inner work is the most important thing to further one’s success in and out of the workplace.

Doing inner work for success is like building muscle, you use it or you lose it. Exercise your brain with new hobbies and skills to develop greater potential, your greater potential. We often get in our own way, but passion and resolve can take us anywhere. “The common denominator of high achievers, no matter what they’re achieving, is this special combination of passion and perseverance for really long-term goals.” Said Angela Duckworth professor of psychology, University of Pennsylvania.

Grit is a common attribute for successful people, and accounts for 4% of the variance in success outcomes for, education attainment, GPA, retention and competition. Businesses that don’t partake in inner work suffer. Poor leadership costs US companies 550 billion dollars a year in lost productivity. High turnover is common as well, with 47% of people stating they loved their job but could not stay because of their manager.

Inner work is the journey of understanding and improving yourself, and once you learn how to do inner work, the only limit is you.
